Sun, 05/21/2006 - 07:41
I need a sub med to replace Keppra. I am already on Klonopin. Without the Keppra I shake and jerk an get stroke like episodes. Has anyone switched to a new drug withought the rage and memory loss issues? I was on Depakote and I was normal then but my liver fuctions went off. Ever since I am not under control and I am totally a different person. Any suggesstions before I call my Doctor would be appreciated, Thanks

Hey Joan! I'm on Lexapro 250 mg. twice a day. I take anywhere between 1/4 and 1/2 mg. every night right around my period. It's to help stop the monthly seizures but I could never rely on just that. Call your doctor, document everything. Ask around here but trust your own experience. You're the expert with regard to that. Lexapro has helped. You must report any rash immediately if it occurs when yo first try it. That would mean you cannot take it. Thhe doctor would let you know. Does your doctor listen to you? You comfortable with him/her? You need to be. Take care, Nancy B.

Nancy- My doctor just called and refuses to take me off of Keppra? I suggested the Lexapro and he said no. This is the first time he has ever said something like that to me. Do you have myoclonic jerks? Hugs Joan
