Good Morning,

First, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad..  What kind of vitamins do you take? My son is on B-Complex, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Mag, calcium, Folic acid and a good multi vit. This is so important.  Please watch your diet that is so important. We are lowering my son off of Trileptal and he will only be on Keppra also. I'm upping his vit. though.

Since you are under so much stress I really think the B-complex and Omega 3 fatty acids would really help. Just my opinion.  Good Luck and God Bless  Kristi

Hi. I am sorry to hear about your dad and the cancer. I do hope that he feels better soon. As for the AEDs it takes time. Finding the right AED is done through a process of elimination. Diet is so important, getting enough sleep too. When I first was diagnosed with E I didn't pay to much attention to diet. I sure do watch what I eat and drink now! There are so many things out there that trigger seizure. As you probably already know stay away from stimulants, caffine, etc. Eat lots of fresh brocolii. It is high in folic acid. Somehow the folic acid helps reduce seizure. Watch your sodim level as too little salt can trigger seizure. Bananas are suppose to be good in helping keep seizure away. (I am not sure what the bananas do?) Someone at this site mentioned about bananas. There are suppliments like the omega fatty acids, "B" vitamins, certain amino caids, oxygen drops and others that will help slow down the frequency of seizure. Talk to your neuro or local health food store to see if there is anyhing else that might help stop seizure. Be sure what you take will compliment the AED you are on. The best advice is to be informed. Stay up to date with E and research the subject. Know everything about the drugs you take, side effects, recommended dosages, etc. Ask lots of questions. I hope yo find something that works. All the best, Linda.
