Hi bevs. Sorry to hear you are so down. Was wondering how long you have been on Clobazam because my epiletologist just changed my meds and he totaly removed Clobazam. He said the Clobazam is only effective for 6 months to a year. I have never been on the other one you are on so I don't realy know anything about it. I had the opposite effect when I was taken of a different one and changed to Keppra along with Lamictal(which so far has had the least side effects). That is a very large drop and I'm kind of suprised your doctor did that. Depression seems to be quite a problem with alot of seizure disorders,so it may be because you are having seizures again. You realy should phone your doctor and tell him what has happened. Maybe it's time to try a new med. Hope I helped abit and I'm sure many others here can help and may have been on the same med and had the same problem. Have a good day and smiles to you. Linda

Hi Bevs. I'm sorry to read

Hi Bevs. I'm sorry to read that you are suffering these effects through titration of your medication. Treatments for epilepsy have come a long way in the last decade. If you're on the right drug, you're likely to have good control of your seizures. As with all medications, there is a possibility that AED's can cause side effects-especially when weaning off, and titrating Aed's. It's then that unexpected things can and do happen, including an increase in seizure frequency. People who have just started taking Clobazam (or who have just started taking a larger amount.) should be careful during activities that might be dangerous, until they know whether they are having any side effects. Maybe talking to your doctor or neuro about it might be an idea worth spending some time on. I did look up intracranial hypertension, and read that some researchers think in women this is hormone related. The addiction you have also to the painkillers you take for that sounds as if it needs to be looked at by an expert, and I'm not one. Have you a close friend you can call, or contact who can spare some time to listen, and perhaps help you through this titration period. Sort of hold your hand and be there for you? As this link says... If these problems do not go away within several days, or are really bothersome, call the doctor. Sometimes the doctor can help with these side effects by changing the prescription: http://www.epilepsy.com/medications/i_frisium_sideeffects.html Good luck with the sleep deprivation eeg, and hang in there. Cat.
