Vimpat

Tue, 01/20/2015 - 22:24

Hi, I have been on Keppra & Lamictal for several years however I am having some seizure activity again. My neurologist wants to wean me off of my Lamictal & add the Vimpat with the Keppra. If anyone will share their thoughts/opinions on taking Vimpat I sure would appreciate it! Thanks!

I have taken keppra for years

I have taken keppra for years and It is the best medication I have taken for my epilepsy. I was still having 2 seizures or more a week. Doc prescribed vimpat and after easing me on and adjusting it I am down to a seizure every 8-14 days. It is made by the same company that makes keppra. I am the first patient Doc coupled vimpat and keppra to. He is associated with a group that does drug studies and he knew the company wanted to test the coupling. I have been using the 2 medications for about 2 years now. They shortened the time in the seizures and the number of seizures. What used to be 45 minutes long now lasts less than a minute. I hope this helps
