Interesting question.I hope you get answers to your question.Vimpat is a newer medication and it does work for many people. You mae get posts about it not working fo them or it had this side effect or that side effect and they didn't like that happening. Well all medications have side effects. That also means over the counter meds.It was coupled with my Keppra and the compination has reduced th number of seizures I was having from 2 a week to 1 every 8-14 days. It and the keppra have shortened the time in those seizures from 4-8 minutes to a few seconds. The get back to normal time was reduced from 15-45 minutes to a few seconds too. I can now have a seizure while standing next to you and you would know nothing about the seizure. The delay in time would seem like I was searching for a word to use in the sentence. Side effects do happen. The number of people that get them range from 5-8% for most side effects. Which means that 92-95% of the people taking it have no problems with it. I hope this helps Joe

I agree they are all

I agree they are all poisoning bottom line. It's unfortunate but I had been able to go off meds and try ketogenic diet but it didn't work for me and now I have to take Vimpat which seems better then others I guess so far. Some of the ingredients in Vimpat at totally unnecessary: "The inactive ingredients are purified water, sorbitol solution, glycerin, polyethylene glycol, carboxymethylcellulose sodium, acesulfame potassium, methylparaben, flavoring (including natural and artificial flavors, propylene glycol, aspartame, and maltol), anhydrous citric acid and sodium chloride." For example my soon to be x-wife is allergic to propylene glycol. It is in all kinds of processed foods but is really just a lubricant in machine equipment, not a food. It's common name is "brake fluid" in cars but if there is a little in your tooth paste, or soda, or other food it won't hurt... and is FDA approved. I'm not familiar with what those other inactive ingredients are but I'm sure they have some "interesting" origins and side effects. They also add colors:  50 mg tablets: red iron oxide, black iron oxide, FD&C Blue #2/indigo carmine aluminum lake. 100 mg tablets: yellow iron oxide. 150 mg tablets: yellow iron oxide, red iron oxide, black iron oxide200 mg tablets: FD&C Blue #2/indigo carmine aluminum lake. Why do they do this? I don't care what color they are and would prefer the colors to be natural from the needed active ingredients. This is just for marketing and sales nothing more.
