Use of Valuim

Wed, 07/15/2015 - 23:13

My daughter has recently had a sleep deprived EEG that showed almost continuous abnormal brain activity.  She is taking Depakote to control her seizures.  (She had a few febrile seizures and then her first major tonic-clonic seizure at 3). An overnight sleep study showed that she had abnormal brain activity 80% of the night a year and a half ago.  She had a sleep deprived EEG 6 months ago that was greatly improved. Her most recent sleep deprived EEG is almost 100%.  To control this the doctor wants to add Valium at night to control the activity.  She is diagnosed with ESES or CSWS.  Has anyone had any experience using Valium to control this condition?  I'm nervous because she just turned 7 and the medicine and this condition will greatly impact her learning.
