Trileptal...Modd Stabilizer...Dangers?

Sat, 07/02/2005 - 20:21

I switched from Tegrotol to Trileptal 2 weeks ago.  I had taken my nightly dose of Trileptal an hour before I started working out in my basement.  After 15 minutes of strenuous activity, I FELT FINE, when under normal condititons, I would be exhausted after 5 minutes.  So I kept going and PASSED OUT.

I spoke to a Nuerologist, and he mentioned that the mood stablizing effect of the medication may have lulled me into thinking I was in a better condition than I was, and precipitated the fainting spell.

Any experiences with this?

Trileptal give low sodium and will cause a seizure. You need to keep up with your sodium level. In the summer time it is worse for we are sweating and we are drinking more.  Try to drink gatorade or eat salty things for it will stop the seizures from happening.
