Trileptal/Difficulty Walking in children

Wed, 12/20/2006 - 15:55
My 3 1/2 year old daughter has been taking trileptal for about a month for her partial complex epilepsy along with Keppra. We increased her trileptal dose again about a week ago and she is really having some difficulty walking. It almost seems like her knees or hips "lock up" on her, especially when she has been still or sitting for a while. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not had the knees or hips lock up on me. But sometimes if the meds are too high we can feel a bit unbalanced. And even if they are not, meds can cause this problem. Trileptal can cause dizziness and double vision. Keppra causes the dizziness too. Possible that is what is happening and that is why she is having difficulty walking. take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
