Topamax weight GAIN????

Hey!
I have been on topamax since about sept or oct. of 2005. I was on 100 mg a day and lost 13 pounds. For me that was a good bit. Being 5'2 and when I started the medication I was only 115 pounds. I had a break through seizure on new years day -way to bring in the new year :( - and my doc wanted to bring me up to 200 mgs but i didnt make it due to memory and concentration problems in school. But besides all that I am at 150 mgs and I'm gaining weight like crazy now. This weight gain has started about a month or 2 after I increased my dosage. Has any one else experienced this? Is the wonderful side effect of weight loss going away? Is that possible?

I know when I was on Topamax, I also gained weight. THe med was stopped because I had 20 complex partial twice within one day. I was tested at the hospital to make sure it was from the topamax and it was from the topamax. I was taken off immediately.
Could it be from something else, like hormones?

Hi Dee2006,
How is this working for you? I've been on Topamamax for three weeks, exercizing the whole time, eating right, and I put on a pound!!!! Did you taper off and quit losing weight?

Hi I am on 150mg of topamax as well as lamictal. I have not gained any weight at all infact every time my dose has been increased on the topamax I have lost weight. Sorry I have not been much help take care Honeybear xxx
