Topamax and nosebleeds

Sun, 01/28/2007 - 17:18
Hello. I'm still fairly new to this forum, although certainly not new to dealing with epilepsy. My son Cody has been on Keppra for a little more than a year. Topamax was added this past Tuesday, as he has continued to have 3-4 seizures a month despite taking the maximum adult dose of Keppra. (He's 15) He started having nosebleeds yesterday and has had 3 of them in 24 hours. I looked it up and it is a known side effect of the topamax. Has anyone here experienced this, and if so, did it go away on its own or did you have to stop taking the topamax? Thanks! Holly

I am not the only person with such a negative  out come. I looked this up because I could not believe a medication can make you slow, unable to write or speak. And this medication made pain and tingling run down my legs so watch out for the unexpected !
