Hi everyone,
I am on Tegretol CR (controlled release). Since I am travelling a lot, I've seen that in other countries they have Tegretol LR, XR, etc. So which is which? Because not even pharmacist are able to say 100% that CR and XR means the same...
Thanks in advance!
ps. Tegretol CR 400 works really well for me, taken with 12h interval, and I am also on Rivotril (clonazepam). The best combination. No hard problems with memory, weight, etc. Maybe a little tired but I don't know if it's epi or just me ; )

I had problems with the regular brand name being taken at perfect intervals for control due to my professional life. I switched to the XR(extended relief) and it dosed me better. You cannot take it to close together since it will slow you down and give you a headache. Try and space it at 12 hour intervals if twice a day for instance. I would pick hours when I was awake like 12 noon and 12 midnite. I got used to it and could take it a hour or so ahead or behind without problems. It does take getting use to as does any of these medications. When you go on or off any of them they tend to create problems and that is why you must withdrawl slowly or build up slowly. Good luck. If you have a very difficult time or react, call your doctor and explain what is occuring. His nurse will get to him and you will be ok.
