Any and all medications have

Any and all medications have side effects. That includes over the counter meds. Generrally it takes 3-4 weeks for your body to get used to the medication and after that period of time the side effects go away. As for side effects that last you will find remarks on all kinds of sites that the person had side effects and they post telling how bad the medication was.... How ever in order for the medication to pass the FDA and be approved the side effects have to be in certain percentages. Most of those percentages are 5-8% and in some cases 10-12% all depending on certain things in the side effects. If you read th reviews or posts you need to understand that there are 92-95% of the people taking the medication who have been using it and their seizures are controlled. As for the medication it works and I have used it. I would also sugest you go with th medications your doctor wants you to take. A doctor prescribing a medication will generally have a patient taking that medication and it had been working for that patient. The doctor will have the dosages set because of that same issue. It does take time for levels to build up in your body. Once they have been built up is when those side effects go away. That time period is also why most neurologist want anothe visit in about 3-4 months. At that time he will ask questions. Has the medication stopped your seizures. and many others. He is trying to determine if adjustments to your dosages needs to be nade. There are no one size fits all medications for epilepsy medications, As for eliminating I have no idea what you are talking about. Half life is a game that can be played on a computer. Understand I am much older and I am using information I obtained in the 50+ years I have been living and dealing with epilepsy.

I found that the medication

I found that the medication makes me extremely tired, bruise very easy and very dizzy. I take 800 mg & take it along with lamictal 500mg along with other meds so it's hard to say how it will effect me vs. the way it would effect you. I hope this helps a bit~Karen
