Tegretol

Mon, 08/15/2016 - 14:10
Hi I'm Brent. I had minor childhood epilepsy from the ages of approximately 5-7 years old. My face would contort then it would be over in several seconds. One night, I woke up seizing and could't get up. Somehow, I fell out of bed without injury but my parents heard me and I was taken to the ER. I test "positive" for epilepsy I guess you can say and they hoped that I would grow out of it with the assistance of medication. I was on Tegretol for about 5 years; lessening my doses as I grew. Every since, my short-term memory has declined more and more as I am now 31. I can barely recall what happened several minutes ago sometimes. Does anybody else have this issue? I don't know if it's from the medication or childhood epilepsy I haven't spoken to my doctor about this but I do have an annual appointment coming up soon. Any advice on how I should word this that won't make them blame age or something to avoid my insurance having to pay for my treatment? Thanks, Brent
