Simple Partial Seizures

Wed, 04/29/2015 - 21:15
If diagnosed with simple partial seizures do I have to go on medication? Is there alternative methods such as diet or something like that to lessen seizure occurrence? Can the Dr take my license away if I don't go on medicine and have simple partial seizures? Can or will simple partial seizures escalate to a worse type of seizure? I go for my EEG Friday. I feel like I am having these after reading the descriptions of others. I am 35 yrs old, breastfeeding a 6 month old, and considering having another child and am very worried about going on seizure medication for those reasons. Also does anyone know of a good neurologist to go to in the northeast Pennsylvania or Philadelphia area?

If you had had a seizure then the possibility of having more without treatment will be higher and the seizures can generally get stronger.    Is there alternative methods such as diet or something like that to lessen seizure occurrence? There are diets but your neurologist would be able to discuss them with you. If you go on a diet then it might help but stray any and I don't know. This site as an area for doctors and it d=can be found in the get help section. Or Call the 24/7 help line which can be found on every page.As for breast feeding and considering another child fine. Your neurologist can help you with different medications that won't interfere with your Childs growthAs for reading about certain types of seizures. It might help but each persons seizure is different. The information written basic but you might not have the same things or you might have some that aren't in the list.I hope this helpsJoe
