Should I get off Valproic Acid?

Thu, 12/18/2014 - 19:33

Before October 1st, I took Clobazam and Lamotrigine. 4 Lamotrigine and 4 Clobazam, so 8 pills. Gradually, my doctor reput me on Valproic acid because I asked her too. I started taking it October 1st then a week later, I thought I felt a mouth ulcer, before that I was constantly afraid I was going to get them and my mom told me to relax and think poisitive.

I have been seizure free for over 2 months already and I love life without having a seizure, it makes things nice and I can maybe get my drivers liscene. But I am not sure if I am allergic to it or not. I was in NYC before I started the new pills and I was wondering if I maybe it could have been something I had in New York.

I know there is an allergy test and I have to go to get my flu shot and should I ask my doctor to possibly take a needle to check? I really want it to be something different.

I think I had an infection since I had a bunch of ulcers along the top of my mouth which are gone now and one under my 2 little teeth on my bottom gum.

Should I just wait till I see my doctor? I see her March again

If since you had the ulcers

If since you had the ulcers earlier and they went away and your dosage has been changed then you do need to contact your neurologist and discuss this matter with him. If he makes changes or wants to see you he may bring you in with an earlier appt. A lot of these problems can be done over the phone
