Without knowing how long she

Without knowing how long she has been taking medications and how long it has been to see if the dosages are set there is no way to know if the levels she is taking is right for her.Levitiracetam is the generic form of keppra which I have used for many years. Seizure medications are not like asperin. There is no one size fits all form of seizure medication. With any and all AED it takes 1-2 months for hte body to get used to the medication. It also takes at least 1 month to see if the medications is controlling the seizures, Which is generally why most neurologists want to see the patient again after 3-4 months. In that visit the neurologist will make adjustments to the dosages or even couple the medication with another medication.  As for changing one medication to another..... That should never be done without the neurologist knowing it. It takes time for the body to get used to the medication and the levels to build in the body. Which means it takes 1-2 months for the medication to leave the body completelySO it takes time to be weaned off and on too new medications before they can tell if any medication will work.
