Please help - new to Lamotrigine

Mon, 02/06/2017 - 09:35
Quick background: I've been on Phenobarbitol (yes, it's old but worked well for me) for decades. Upon discovering I have osteopenia, my neurologist recently had me switch to Lamotrigine. I did the "taper up" to 100 mg. morning and again at night. It hasn't been fun. At first it was headache and nightmares, but I got past that and it's not a problem. But now I can't get beyond the dry mouth! It's not just dry mouth - it's dry esophagus, dry larynx, dry everything. To make it worse, it feels like there is a lump in my throat and I have this dry cough. No matter how much water or sugar free sports drinks I consume it's always there. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks, but how do you cope? Is this lump in the throat and cough feeling common? Thank you in advance. :(
