MY NERUOLOGISIT ADDED PHENOBARBITAL 60MG EVERY NIGHT BEFORE BED I'M SO SCARE OF THE SIDE EFFECT IT MIGHT GIVE ME. I'M ALREADY TAKING TRILEPTAL 300MG TWICE A DAY AND I DONE VERY WELL ON THIS MEDS. I HAD NO SIDE EFFECT TO THIS MEDS SO I'M AFRAID OF THE OTHER MEDS MAKING ME SICK. IF ANY ONE CAN TELL ME HOW PHENOBARBITAL MAKE YOU FEEL OR THE SIDE EFFECT I WOULD VERY MUCH BE GRATEFUL.

I am also taking Trileptal, 600 mg. in the morning and 650 mg. at night. After a recent seizure, my neurologist put me back on phenobarbital (which he had me stop taking a couple months ago, thinking it was having no affect - I guess it was!). I am also taking 60 mg. of phenobarbital at night. I note no negative side effects from the phenobarbital. It may make me a bit sleepier, but I'm so tired at night it's hard to say if the neds may any difference. I can't say how it will make you feel, but it has not caused any problems with me.

I dont like really shooting a drug down especially when you just started on it. BUT Everyone reacts different from a medication. I am not on it anymore, but I was on it for 23+ years. I am on trileptal too. I will be completely honest with you. I hate it. It was the worse drug I was on and I have been on just about everyone of them. dizziness memory problems anemia bone loss decreased sexual interest slurred speech upset stomach I also got anxiety from going off of it. It took me a year and half to get off of it, very slowly for it would cause a generalized seizure if we went to fast. I now have anxiety, which I never had before. http://www.epilepsy.com/medications/b_phenobarbital_intro.html Best of luck Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

I took Phenobarbital and I will not candy coat it,it is awful.I had hallucinations, headaches, hearing things.I got a taste of what drug addicts felt.NEVER AGAIN,I told my doctor I never wanted to feel that way again, once I was in my right mind.If possible, DONT take this medicine! I hope I could help.I did some research on this med and you I agree that medicines effect people in different ways.BUT KEEP THIS IN MIND,WHEN A PHARMACY IS ROBBED OR A HOME IS BURGLARIZED THIS IS THEIR DRUG OF CHOICE,A HALLUCEGENIC DRUG.KEEP SAFE. God Bless All Of You,Always Pam
