overwhelming anxiety on lamictil

Fri, 04/03/2015 - 19:06
My doc is switching me from dilantin to lamictil. While slowly increasing the dosage on the lamictil I will get overwhelmed with anxiety and be put in to almost a panic attack I have to talk myself down. ..I was wondering if this is something any one else is experiencing. I'm new to lamictil so any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

You are having a side effect it takes time for your body to get used to the new medication. So keep talking yourself down and relax you are not the only person this happened to. I have had a few issues with the change od a medication. I was also switched without being weaned off but I stayed in teh hospital for that mainly because the medication I was being taken off of was at a toxic state.
