welcomeKeppra is becomming the go to medication for epilepsy and seizures. You can read posts about how bad it is and some people call it kep rage. There are side effects and one of them is mood swings.I have been in drug studies for new medications and I do know that side effects do happen. I also know that 5-8% of the people taking the medication do have side effects. So those posts I mentioned were from the 5-8% of the people taking it. If the medication is working and the people are happy using it then you may never see a post about it. SO will you think about the 5-8% of the people taking and judge weither you take it of think about the 92-95% that have had no problems with it.As for me I have beem using it for a long time. The generic also works and I have used the generic made by 4-5 different companies. Keppra reduced the number of seizures I was having. It shortened the time in the seizure as well as the time to get back to normal. What used to be 3-5 minutes in the seizure and another 15-45 minutes to get back to normal is now 2-8 seconds in the seizure and another few seconds to get back to normal. Now I can have a seizure in a crowd and no one would know about it. The longer you wait to start taking medications the more frequent your seizures will be and they will be stronger and last longer. I hope mereloaded posts to this since her son has been taking keppra and has been seizure free I believe for over a year Joe
