My son

My son is on 10ml of ethosuximide twice a day and he seems really spaced out a lot of the time. I spoke to his teachers at parents evening the other night and they were saying if they he seems to have a blank expression most of the time in class and he's slow to respond when asked questions. His teachers haven't noticed any absences though since his dose was put up two and half months ago though me and my partner have noticed the odd one. My question really is has anyone else's child had these side effects and if so what have you done about them? Any help would be great full x
