MEDS HELP MORE THAN HARM

Wed, 02/17/2016 - 18:17

I have had epilepsy over 45 years, have been on all types of meds and tried a VNS. None elimitated my seizures but I don't have grande-mals or any that are life threatening. I had complex petites monthly when younger which caused chewing, falling, injuries and of course pain. I am on the same meds as then but my body has changed, I now have daily partials which I know will pass. My frequent seizures have caused fybroid cysts (nerve pain) muscle pain and loss of teeth but the drug Lyrica helps me. If I could find a drug which would stop my partials I would not hesitate to try it. Loss of bladder control from the partials is the worst thing of them. Anyone who is seizure free thanks to their meds should be grateful and not worry over whatever side effects they have. You don't have sugar or anything life threatening. I just started a new drug, Fycompa, three months ago which has caused sides but I know my body/mind will adjust and if it helps I would never stop it. Always weigh the good vs the bad ; Epilepsy is from your brain  and your brain needs help just like any other part of you.
