Limbic encephalitis - voltage gated potassium channel level

Thu, 01/01/2015 - 08:12

My epilepsy is caused by having Limbic encephalitis, of which I am taking lamotrogine and prednisolone.

My voltage gated potassium channel reading is around the 1400 mark, up from the 1300 it was the previous test.

My understanding is that it should be under 100, yet my doctor says 1400 is fine as it used to be over 4000.

I'm now tapering off prednisolone, and am wondering whether anyone else has ever heard of this level being ok.
