Levetiracetam (Keppra)

Hey, I know many have mentioned using this drug before i just wanted to give a heads up for people to be very careful on this medication. I was diagnosed in 2013 with supposedly having seizures again (I've had 2 or 3 new doctors say no i'm not having seizures) well the doctor i was seeing in the town i was living in put me on this stuff and boy did it mess with me big time. at first i thought the problems i was having was just from the seizures or what we thought was seizures. Turns out the problems i was having was actually from the medication itself (Only know this because it's been 6 months and i've returned to normal you'll see in next paragraph what i mean.) You see this medication caused me to first start having emotional issues such as hearing voices, seeing things that weren't there and from what i've been told having multiple people come out in me. I then started to having visual problems with eyes becoming blurry or giving me headaches from trouble seeing. i also developed really bad migraines that would last for 2 or 3 days. I later on after the doctor increased my meds i started having trouble walking. There were times i couldn't get my legs to move no matter how much i tried. There was also times my one side or another of my body would become Paralyzed it got so bad they at first thought i was developing Multiple Sclerosis so did the testing for it, but that wasn't the case. I nearly ended up in a wheelchair because it was so bad. Thankfully once i seen the doctor here he had me stop taking this medication and all the symptoms have gone away. I still have the occasional migraine or headache (but he thinks that is from some other medical issues and has me taking magnesium for it). They had me taking 3500 mg a day (1500 in the morning and 2000 at night) So be careful i dealt with all these issues for 3 and half years before found out it was this medication. SO PLEASE be careful and watch closely for the side effects. My doctor here says i should sue the other doctor for malpractice (Misdiagnosed) But don't have the money to do that.

Well any and all medications

Well any and all medications have side effects. Did you ever sit down with the doc that prescribed your keppra? If not then you should have. You should have gotten a different neurologist (one that specializes in epilepsy) and talked about this issue. Keppra has become the go to medication for seizure control. I have been using it for over 15 years now. Side effects generally go away after your body gets used to the medication. I have only used   about 20-25 different medications or combinations of medications in th 50+ years I have had epilepsy.
