Lamotrigine, serotonin, and antidepressants

Mon, 04/10/2017 - 14:09
Hello all! I was just wondering if anyone on here is taking antidepressants with lamotrigine. I'm on a rather high dosage (900mg/day) and had started trying some antidepressants. Unfortunately, within one day of starting the antidepressants I realized that my serotonin levels had hit the point where it was like I was overdosing. I know lamotrigine is sometimes used as a mood stabilizer for bipolar disorder, so I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this. I've tried three kinds of SSRIs (selective Serotonin reuptake inhibitor). Thanks!

Before you start taking

Before you start taking medications for something you need to check with your neurologist to see if the medication counters any that you are taking.

Sorry, I should have

Sorry, I should have clarified. I've tried all of these as per my neurologist, was wondering if anyone has had the same issues.
