lamictal/zonegran conflict with marijuana?

Wed, 07/29/2015 - 03:33
I'm 23 have several seizure types, been on lamictal and zonegran for 2 years. I decided to smoke for the first time a few days ago as it became legal in my state. It was a strain with extremely high thc. My experience was not what people told me I would have (relaxed, happy ect) First I had to stop smoking because my hands were so weak and shaking so bad I couldn't hold anything. I could bearly walk, or speak. everything was blurry. my extremities were shaking. the more I moved around the more things "cleared up" the whole time I was having a panic attack about having a seizures. I spent the rest of the night laying on the floor on my side anticipating a toniclonic. not a relaxing experience. I tried smoking again a few days later to rule out a "bad trip" and the same thing happened to a lesser degree as I smoked less So. I have read on drugs.com and other forums from others experiences that these medications interfere. Please share thoughts and experiences

There are 2 main types of

There are 2 main types of Marijuana Indica and Sativa.  Indica is the type that is relaxing - and if you have epilepsy you want.  It is supposed to help with anxiety, pain, and muscle spasms thats why it's allowed medically for Epilepsy.  If you get Sativa it is more of a mood booster and more of a change in your thoughts.  However if you just want it for medical purposes you should get CBD oil.  It has no mood altering effects and is used purely for medical purposes. I've had Epilepsy for a long time and have smoked and taken edibles on and off for fun in the past.  Sometimes I would get "weirded out"  but that was just me over thinking it.  Like the person below me says as long as it's not laced with anything your good to go.

I had the exact same experience. I was on zonegran and lamictal. I have 2 types of epilepsy. The only difference was that mine was an edible and not actually smoking. I was having panic attacks, hallucinations, and shakiness/vertigo. I ended up just wedging my self into a corner and hugging a pillow because that was the only way I could make myself feel stable. I legit thought I was going to die.
