Lamictal XR vs generic

Hi- I am new to this site. I wanted opinions on generic lamictal xr. I have been on name brand for the last 7 years with only one breakthrough seizure. My previous insurance had covered the medication with a relatively low copay for those years, with minimal issues. My prescription insurance now got switched to CVS/Caremark and am experiencing nothing short of a nightmare with them and continuing to get the name brand. I will be out of the name brand soon and am filing an appeal but that could take up to 30 days. Is there a certain generic manufacturer that is better than another? Any tips on dealing with CVS/Caremark? I am at a loss as to what to do at this point. Very nervous to try the generic after reading some discussions. Thanks!
