Lamictal and speech problems

Thu, 10/12/2006 - 22:22
I have been on Lamictal since August 2005, but since November 2005, when the doctor decided to increase my dose, I have been stuttering. In the last couple of weeks it seems to have gotten worse. I would just like to know if anybody else has had this problem.

I've only been on Lamictal for about a week, but I've been experiencing some problems with stuttering. It's weird, but not as bad as some of the other side effects, so I haven't been paying too much attention to it. I've definitely noticed a different in my speech from before the medication to now.

I have been on Lamictal for a couple years now and I haven't had any problems with stuttering, but I do have a problem with slurred speech and word recall.

Hi sm. I too had an aweful time with stuttering along with slurred speech and poor word recall. Many other side effects aswell, was a nightmare. It was due to over medication, but we are'nt sure which one. Was taking lamictal+ 2 others. Have you had your levels checked lately? I would call doc(due to said exp) and let him know what's happening, request a level check. Darn meds! Hope you get some answers, there is no need to live with that, may need to try a new med. Good day and smiles!
