Klonopin

I started this new med today and read the side effects listed. I had a liver problem with Depakote ER and this says this drug could too. No one mentioned that I would have to have my levels tested again. Is that something I should be asking my Neuro? Also, is it ever used alone for treating Myoclonic jerks? Thanks for your help. Joan

Joan, I debated on saying anything, but I was on it years ago. Aside from my hair falling out in clumps and my hands shaking really bad...it worked great. They took my levels back then too. I'm assuming it included the klonopin. I won't lie though...coming off it was an awful experience. But I'm hoping it's not the same for everyone. Hugs! -Spiz

Oops...forgot to answer about the jerks. I was also on Dilantin so I'm not sure which was for the jerks or if they aided each other. Back then they said take it and I said okay! I'll see if I can find any info to let you know. Huggers! -Spiz

Just took a half at lunch and the shaking has stopped. It seems to be the #1 med prescribed for Myoclonus. I'll kill if I lose my hair again and I do know it's addictive. But I will trade it all for getting up and walking a little...I think!
