Keppra xr to Keppra generic levetiracetam

Fri, 03/06/2015 - 18:12

My doctor has put me on Keppra generic and so far I'm pleased.

When I was on the Keppra xr it seems like I was over excited and very sensitive and moody.

Now that he switched me to the Keppra generic I feel calmer and even get tired at night.

Has anyone else experienced this also?

I use generic now but I used Keppra before the generic could come oout. I feel more at ease now and did the first time I used the generic. Keppra used to cost $987 plus change each monty. I liked th generic since back then I only cost 518 and chagne. Yup the medications cost me 2 weeks take home pay. But I will only go to  anothe medication if Doc says it is better than keppra and he has a study proof that shows it to be true.In other words I will not go off keppra or th egeneric because it has done nothing buy=t help control my seizures better then all the other medications I have used in the 50+ years I have been living and dealing with epilepsy. If you take your meds 2 times a day please be sure to take them 12 hours apart. I take mine at 8 morning and night. If I forget for awhile and take my night time medication at 10 then I have a possiability of having a breakthru seizure. I also know that for me I probably will not have one because I do know my theraputic levels are not low range. I hope this helps. Joe
