Keppra Withdrawal Need Feedback Asap!!!!!

Thu, 07/13/2017 - 12:12
Okay, a little background: For the last 13 years I have been seizure free due to Keppra (3000 a day) and Lamictal (400 a day). Recently, my Neurologist put me on Topamax (50 twice a day) to help with Migraine and chronic headaches. While it worked, Topamax also tore my life apart completely! Google the side-effects. You name them, I had them. Exhausted all the time, couldn't remember words, short-memory was shot, nearly got fired from my job because I screwed everything up and I couldn't even hold conversations with people, even close friends. Had a hard time constructing sentences (as a writer, this is frustrating) I was a total zombie. So, after being totally strung out on a high mixture of drugs my Neuro decided to lower my Keppra dosage to 1000 gradually over the course of about 3 months to help all the side-effects. Also I had a lot of anxiety about going down on the Keppra due to fear of having seizures again so he put me on 50 Trazodone to help take the edge off. The cognitive side-effects have gotten much better and I'm not as anxious anymore, so good for me! Problem is, since I started weaning off Keppra I'm twitchy/jerky, body ache and what feels like nerve pain (mostly in my in feet) and I feel weak. My Neuro dismissed the idea of Neuropathy and I said I feel weak because I was on such a high mixture of drugs because it was wearing on me. But I'm still worried because I find it weird all this started happening a few weeks after I started weaning off Keppra and I feel like the weakness would have gone away by now and consulting DR google I'm worried it's MS or Parkinsons or something. So my question is: Is this just a Keppra withdrawal? Because my body is so used to being on a high doese of Keppra and it's finally off and my body isn't used to it yet, or something else. I would like anyone else's feedback who's had experience on this matter. Thanks!!!
