Keppra alternatives ? HELP Please

Thu, 09/08/2016 - 09:49
Hi all, Im posting this on behalf of my mother. Shes 58 and just been diagnosed with epilepsy. She had her first seizure about 1 year ago. They are still not sure of the cause of the seizures, but she has them on and off every few months. I have been reading up a lot on keppra rage. Since taking Keppra she has extreme out burst and loses control. She will focus on one thing and go crazy about that. Most of the time she will calm down and the next day be fine until the next angry attack. We are at the point we dont know what to do, its very hard to deal with her when she has her outburst. We have talked with her and she doesnt know that she has them or see's how she acts. The reason im here is, I want to know if there is any other medications that has less angry issues? At this point we are willing to try everything. If anyone has had the same issues with keppra rage and tired anything else that worked? it would be great to know so we can talk with her and also take her next time she fills out her script and try something new. Any advice would be great. We really need it now. Thanks

research can be done and you found kepprage. Yes kepprage is one of the biggies when it comes to keppra. Your mother is one of he 5-8% of the people taking it that has a side effect. I am one of the 92-95% that keppra has helped and controlled my seizures. The person to talk to about her medications is her neurologist. They would know the best medication other then the keppra that can control seizures like the ones she has. The neurologists will will ease her off one while gradually putting her on the other. As Amy Jo posted vitimiine sulpiments help. I have been using citracal and it is helping me physically.I hope this helpsJoe
