Just doubled Keppra

I started Keppra (250mg twice a day) on March 30, and at that time I struggled with side effects. Mainly these were dizziness, tiredness, and little coordination problems. I also had some nausea during the first week. Granted, I had just had a 5-min grand mal on March 25, so maybe I was partly still recovering from that. But it was a rough few weeks.
So when my NeuroDoc decided to double my Keppra to 500mg twice a day on May 2 (since I was still having auras), I was bracing myself for another round of adjustment time. However, I am pleased to report that I haven't had any noticeable side effects at all on 500mg 2x a day! I sure hope this state of affairs lasts. In fact, I feel better and clearer now than I have in a long, long time. Maybe the Keppra finally toned down that last little bit of extra electrical activity. Who knows? It would be interesting to see what an EEG would look like now.

Hi there,
To cut a long story short if you have a look at the most recent entry in my blog you will see the difference that the addition of Keppra to my meds has had to my life, especially when I think of how things used to be. I was especially interested to see you referring to feeling clearer, i know exactly what you mean, it was like a very dense fog suddenly lifting and everything felt clearer like I was seeing things for the first time. Since the day I first took it over 3 years ago i have been szr free and I used to have the same big old grand mals as you. I hope everything works out for you the same it did for me.
