Is It Good News or Bad News?

Since starting on Zonegran, my son had remained seizure-free for over 3 months. Yesterday, however, he experienced two brief auras (seconds in length). He was certain that a tonic-clonic seizure would follow each aura in a matter of seconds or minutes, as had always been the case previously whenever he felt such auras. However, surprisingly and thankfully, nothig happened after these two latest auras. I'm not sure how to take this. On the one hand, it could be a positive sign, because it could mean that the auras did not generalize to tonic-clonic seizures due to the action of the medication. However, it could also be a negative sign, indicating that the Zonegran failed to stop the auras ( which are simple partial seizures) from occuring in the first place. He's been seizure free for as long as 18 months on previous medications before they stopped working. How do you see the events of yesterday? Should I consider this to be good news or bad news? Thanks, Mike
