holding on to hope
Tue, 11/22/2005 - 12:37Topic: Medication Issues
Hi All: I've been on Dilantin 400mg for over 28 years now and it has served me quite well...Until recently. I have had 7 gm seizures over the past couple of months. It has rocked my world to say the least. I wonder if anyone has heard of people getting used to a certain medicine after many years on it? This whole thing has been so hard for me, I only have seizures between 1am and 5 am.
Any information would be much appreciated. thanks Angel

Hi angel, Yes, I have heard of building tolerances to aed's. It does make you wonder what changed in the past 7 months though, doesn't it? Are you pre-menopausal? Hormones can have a big affect on seizure activity. Good luck to you! Heather :)
