hive reaction

Hello, I've been diagnosed with epilepsy, but I do not know the cause of it. I was originally not taking my medication as instructed. I took 250mg of generic keppra (1 a day originally) and did not have any side effects but behavioral and auras. I forgot my medication while on vacation and had another seizure. Since then, I have been taking my medicine regularly twice a day. When I first started taking it regularly, I noticed small bumps on my legs and arms, but they were not itchy. however they seemed to be getting worse. The other day I went kayaking with my husband for a couple hours and that night I was covered in itchy bumps. they keep appearing and sometimes disappearing for a couple hours. I've tried aloe and it just stops the itching for a few minutes. Has anyone else had this problem?

you should contact your neuro

you should contact your neuro about the reaction asap. someone experienced in the concerning reactions should look at it. sometimes people have very serious adverse skin reactions to AEDs (most people don't have the reactions that warrant the black box warnings) or it could just be an allergic reaction to keppra or one of the fillers (even a moderate allergy to a daily med is kinda concerning imo). does an antihistamine help? sometimes people change laundry detergent or become more sensitive to products that will be on skin (soaps, lotions, etc) so try to keep things the same for a while when starting a new drug. I figured out our child with E has a nickel allergy when starting lamotrigine because the rash was limited to when a necklace was.

I haven't changed any

I haven't changed any detergents or soaps.i did tell the neurologist and she said the keppra could be causing photosensitivity. I was told vitamin c or Benadryl will help
