Help for my mom - Keppra

Mon, 01/16/2017 - 00:49
My mom is 66 and takes Keppra for absence seizures, which started about six years ago. She had a large seizure and started medication afterwards. Not sure exactly how long the absence seizures have really been going on. Anyway, she takes Keppra twice a day, Klonipin for anxiety, antidepressants, high blood pressure meds and possibly one more thing. Her anxiety is through the roof and she won't stay home alone at all anymore. She usually has a sad look on her face and her eyes just seem blank. Her short term memory is horrible. Lots of this has been going on for a while but it seems worse than ever. Now she also shakes her foot constantly and often times her bottom lip twitches. I can't stand seeing her like this. I don't know if this is a medication issue, extreme mental illness, or dementia. My father cares for her and is very defensive. What can I do? Thank you in advance.
