HELP? burning sore throat- lamictal

Sun, 09/17/2006 - 21:29
HI everyone. I have a question. I took 1- 25 mg tablet of lamictal and had an allergy- breathing difficulty included but it was controlled thru taking zantac. It has been 2 days and I have a really bad sore throat that started when I took it. I went to er the day I took it and I guess my throat looked ok because the dr didn't say anything about it. Does anyone know if the sore throat continues to worsen? Tonight it feels like it's on fire! Of course I can't drive, so I don't want to bug anyone to take me to the dr again unless I have to. If anyone has had an allergic reation with sore throat maybe they can help me out. I figured it would be gone by now not getting worse. I can't take benadryl either as I am allergic so I am taking zantac 2x a day. Maybe it in't helping as much as it should? Well, if you have any ideas, I would be glad to hear them. I also had a red face- hot feeling but don't know if that actually counts as a rash or not, but it still feels someitmes as it's burning again. Thanks! Wendy

When new symptoms start after taking a new medicine, best to talk to the doctor right away and if you can't get ahold of them, call or be seen in emergency room to check it out. Symptoms like this need to be looked at by a doctor. Take care,
