I have had no side effects from keppra or even the generic. I have been using it for over 12 years. It is the best seizure medication I have ever used in the 50+ years I have been living and dealing with epilepsy. Side effects do happen and they generally go away after  2-3 weeks. If she has taken it that long or longer then contact her neuro because she coulb be havinf a problem with it. When I was first put on medications I was taken off one the second day because I had a toxic effect. 2 weeks later I was put back on it and I took it for 35 years.  I do hope she get this streightened out and she gets seizure free Joe

YES! Keppra has affected my weight, emotions and energy. Keppra doesn't inspire emotions but, intensifies them and makes them very hard to control. I have found myself crying in situations when I do not feel very sad.  Keppra also makes me tired all the time. People ask me why I start yawning around 3pm every day even though I get enough sleep and don't do a lot of physical excercise. Keppra is........weird but, it does work very well.
