Mon, 08/18/2014 - 08:54

Perie, my husband and I have a discussion about our daughter having a flu vaccine, question is it a good idea to a flu vaccine or not while taking seizure meds? I'm so worried this her first year taking seizure meds and flu vaccine, also which one is good flu shot or in the nose. She want it in her nose, is there any thing that I need to watch for. Her doctor said it's ok  just need every one advice and opinion thanks

Posted this link in the other post, don't know if you might miss one - shorter summary is kids with neurological conditions are at increased risk if they get the flu, shot is recommended for that populationhttp://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/neurologic-pediatric.htm

My daughter with E and other

My daughter with E and other neuro issue gets the flu shot. I get the flu shot. The other kids usually opt for the nasal form. My daughter can be sensitive to other viral illnesses (think minor hospital stay) so I am a hand washing proponent (bordering on annoying), teachers hear about the personal impact (even part of 504 plan). Of course it also mattered when an older family member had COPD, our flu shots can help others.
