Family members w/epilepsy who take same meds?

Fri, 09/01/2006 - 09:24
I am curiose to know if anyone out there has family members with the same type of epilepsy as themselves, who take the same medications. And if it's been successful for them. My mother and I have pretty much the same type of epilepsy. tonic clonic siezures and partials. I've been able to be controled with Carbatrol, and Tegratol in the past. she however, has been taking Phenobarbitol for the last 17 years, and recently added Dilantin to the mix.. A medication switch she never completed..GRRR! She isn't controlled. I know everyone's reaction to medication is different. I guess I'm just hoping, or maybe even grasping at straws here, that there are success stories among blood relatives.
