Euthosoximide (zarontin)

Mon, 06/20/2016 - 10:48
Hello, My 3 year old just got diagnosed with child absence epilepsy after having 5 febrile seizures we pushed to get her thoroughly checked by a paediatric neurologist. She had an EEG done. She started medication a week ago 2.5 ml and then this week up to 4ml twice a day. Next week her dose will go up to 5 ml twice a day and that is it for now. Does anyone have any positive experiences with this medication? Her side effects so far are hyper in the mornings and then very tired. She acts out around supper time. Has been waking up in the night a few times. Will this get any better? Do the stomach pains get better? She has also been having soft stools.

I am just starting my child on it. He already had a pain in his stomach the first night he took it. Hopefully this will go away as time goes on.
