Does this sound like a type of seizure?

Fri, 10/10/2014 - 21:04

This only started a couple weeks, I had an EEG done when some of it was happen. Randomly I'll get automatisms and sometimes at a computer, it feels like it gets tight at the back of my head or randomly at other times. This started out of the blue. When I had asked about my EEG results, the doctor said she only saw a possibilty for my absence seizures; I thought I had complex partial or simple partial. I am so confused...could stress possibly make the head feel tight? I have my usual seizures, blank out. I had taken Zarontin for a couple weeks and caused seizures 10 seconds long; this was quite abnormal, they went away then. I am confused though. I don't see my nuero for months...is my brain maybe just changing? My EEG had come back clear and showed no other possible types of seizures

Stress is a trigger for many

Stress is a trigger for many people with epilepsy. Also understand that just because you have had a certain type of seizure does not mean you can't have others.Generally the EEG shows where the seizure activity is comming from. That said a person can have more then 1 type of seizure and one type of epilepsy. Been there done that. I was diagnosed with grand mal, petite mal and focal motor epilepsy long before they came out with types. So where would I land with types of epilepsy?  The scar tissue causing my epilepsy is in more then 1 lobe of my brain so I am not a candidate for surgery. I hope this helps
