Depakote ER GET ME OFF!
Fri, 09/25/2015 - 23:02I have been living with epilepsy since I was thirteen years old... 8 years now. I got a 72 hour EEG and it came back clean! I was so happy the neurologist said I might be growing out of them. My doctor was weening me off Depakote ER for a couple months. I went from 1,000mg a day to 250mg (plus 300 mg of topamex). I was doing fine for three months...2 weeks ago I had a grand mal seizure.He now increased my Depakote ER to 500mg. I want off this medication!! I gained 20 pounds on it and can never lose weight. I, even though dont want to be pregrant right now, am so scared of the possibly of getting pregrant while being on the medication.
Help! Has anyone switched off of Depakote ER and gone on a different medication that worked??
