CBD Thoughts and comments?

Hello I'm 24 and recently diagnosed with epilepsy, I've been having seziures for a couple months. When I do have them there quick and I don't lose consciousness but I'll ether black out for a second and twitch or at night I'll have trouble sleeping and constantly twitch. My neuro did a EEG and confirmed I'm having seziures on both sides of the front part of my brain. He prescribed 500mg keppra twice a day to start but after doing much research I'm seriously scared of it and would rather take a natural route I've read alot on CBD and have 10mg pure CBD tablets. Has anyone had any success with CBD and didn't need to take the prescription meds? THANKS!

Welcome MelissaScared because of the research?? Is that research on the side effects? Or is it you just do not want to take meds to control your seizures? Yes there are people that have used CBD and it helped control their seizures. There are some that the CBD stopped all seizures and many that reduce the number of seizures. So you need to look at the side effects of that too. Oh and if your issues about the medications side effects then do research your over the counter medications too. You would find side effects that are as bad on them too.Understand that generally side effects with medications for seizure control go away after your body gets used to the medication and the therapeutic levels are built up in your body. That time period is generally 4-6 weeks. As for keppra. I never got a side effect from it. It has been the best medication I have used to control my seizures. I have only used 20 some of different medications and combinations of medications in the 50+ years I have been living and dealing with epilepsy. Today I can have a seizure that lasts a few seconds and you wouldn't know I had it.As for dosages that work for a person. Each persons seizures are different and their bodies are different so their medications and dosages will be different. Also let all your doctors know any and all the different medications you take. The reason for that is because some medications can counter other medications. I can't use some medications because side effects to them  (may cause seizures in seizure prone people). I take the maximum dosage the manufacturers will let a person take. But it make no difference which medication and what it is for I have always needed the highest dosage for an ailment. However one can learn how to do things without medications. I learned how to block pain so I used 1 pain reliever when I had knee surgery and also when they took out my appendix

I currently take 750mg keppra twice a day along with another prescription. My seizures occured weekly until i turned to THC & CBD. The gap between my seizures expanded and im now going on over a year seizure free. A website i would recommend viewing is buylegalmeds.com they have only cbd products and depending on your state you can see if you can order from there or not, hope this helps!
