Birth Deffect Seizures

Thu, 12/14/2006 - 22:49
Hi i just wondering, that because i prolly got E from a birth deffect (lack of oxygen in the womb i think it was, i had some sickness) is there a pattern or trend that will tell me if im likely to have to take depcoat/any medication for the rest of my life? My previous seziures have been relativly minor, lasting a few minutes tops. My seizures mainly cause my face to twitch. I have actually remained conciousness through an entire seziure once, with being able to move around, even climb stairs. Does any of this information matter? Will i just have to find out if I am stuck with E meds for life or is there some kind of study? any replies are good thx PS> I dont drink, and i have not tried smoking MJ with my current medication.

meeciamecia, I was just like u I was wondering if me takeing my epilepsy medicine. And I had 3 kids &well each kid I was nervous about. Simply because I was afraid that when it came time to have each one of my kids I thought that I would have a seizure while in labor. What a frightening thought. Anyway my 2 boys came out fine but when it came to my daughter. Well that is a different stor altoghter, she had to stay an extra 2wks in the hospital. 'Cause I took the medicine it went to her.And well she went through ---- & back, she had a whole bunch of monitors hooked up to her & couldn't drink out of a regular nipple, she was also on a heart monitor the list goes on. But now has a learning disorder, so she is disabled.Do u think that the medicine was a big part of her beinging diabled. She is 15yrs old now soon to be 16yr's old in April, do u think I should do something other than what I am doing now. She takes special classes, she iis in high school just like everyone else bu the classes r just different. If u can understand that I hope that u do. Well I must run now, I will be back again.Kecia
