Being immune to Tegretol

Does anyone know if you can become immune to any medication, i have been taking tegretol for nine years, and beginning to have problems, so they upped the dosage, but i am still have problems? Any suggestions

I've heard that Tegretol can lose its effect after a while...if you're still having problems after them having upped the dosage, then maybe you should talk to them about either upping the dosage further or changing medications altogether. Good luck! - Radini

Yes we can get immune to our meds. But it takes years and years. I was on tegretal for over 23 years and then I changed because I was afraid that was happening. Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpilepsyApproach/

I have been on Tegretol for 13 years. First it was regular Tegretol and now its XR. In the past year, I have had increased focal seizures but nothing full blown. I have also been wondering if it just isn't working anymore.
