Hello All! I was diagnosed with partial complex epilepsy about two months ago. I am taking 200 MG of Tegretal 2X a day. At first there was only the sleepiness. Recently, I have been experiencing the throat closing. Having had allergies all my life, without ever having the throat closing as a reaction, my first thought was that my allergies were changing. However, I have been unable to figure out exactly what I might be allergic to. I have eaten the same things that gave me the reaction without getting the reaction again. Then I found this web site and started to think that it might be the Tegretol. Has anyone had to change meds because of this reaction? Anyone found out what it might be? I tried calling my neuro on Friday but he wasn't in. So I will have to wait until tomorrow. My regular doc has me on the waiting list for allergy tests, but if I don't have to go through that, it would be nice. I don't want to change meds because I have been seizure free since I started taking it. Any and all feedback would be great! Thanks!
