Is anyone taking lyrica?

Sun, 10/01/2006 - 00:01
Hi, I've just started taking lyrica in addition to my Topamax. I had pretty much gotten over all of the side effects of the Topamax, but didn't have great seizure control, so my neuro added Lyrica. Now, I'm having some new side effects. I'm dizzy, sleepy and off balance. Anyone else had this with Lyrica? It's not real bad, but it does make it hard to function. I'm wondering how long this lasts. I'm willing to tough it out if it will stop my sz's. I have complex partial sz's that sometimes generalized where I do get hurt. Topamax has helped a lot, but doesn't stop them completely. Thanks for listening and for your advice.

I have been on lyrica for a year. I also have complex seizures and sometimes generalized seizure too. It also makes me very tired. I dont get dizzy from it. I take trileptal but in time will be off of it. I also have heart palpatations every night after dinner, a very big pain in the butt. Lyrica is a drug that will make you tired. It is also possible that it is the combination with the other drug too. Give it a few weeks and then let your doctor know. best of luck with it lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

I forgot one more side effect, I have more anxiety. It could be from getting off of Phenobarbital or just the lyrica causing it, not sure. take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
