Is anyone on Felbatol?

Hi I'm 20 yrs old and have been on Felb. for about a year in conjuction w/ Lamictal, Zonegran,and Keppra which I've been on for years. Just wanted to know if anyone else talked a lot, rambled, and had a sun sensitivity like an itchy burning feeling in the direct sun light? (Fl.) Just recently my hands have started to shake pretty bad too, serious upper jeez. Hope you guys can be of some help and thanks I'm starting to feel like a rambling fool lol lots of love

Thanks for responding Bobbi I also have loss tons of weight and heaved everyday only in the beginining. I was 117 to begin with now I'm only 102 and everyone thinks I'm bulemic or something. I drink ensures everyday they seem to help a bit. Sounds like your daughter had it bad. Good luck. ~ Meg

Hi Meg I also am on felbatol and have lost a lot of weight. I went from 180-160.
I do feel that it helps me a lot.I have stopped losing weight now What I do is keep an eye on it and keep my dr. informed. -Jamie

Hi Meg, I would like to share my daughter's experience with Felbatol.... She was 16 (1999) and Felbatol was gradually increased to maximum. The problems she had were not at all like yours, but she did lose 45 pounds in 3 months! She had absolutely NO desire for food and would dry heave several times a day. Taking her anti-convulsants (Dilantin and Tranxene) were almost impossible because she would gag and vomit. Her neurologist didn't want to believe it was the Felbatol even though weight loss was a known side effect. Fortunately her pediatrician put her in the hospital because of dehydration and to look for other causes. When we finally started weaning her off the Felbatol, her appetite returned gradually. Bobbi
